I’m one of those people who could care less that we’re getting an insert on a holiday weekend.  For me, it sets the stage for a PERFECT Sunday!  All right, so I’m exaggerating a bit.  I have been really looking forward to ending the P&G drought though.  Here are a few coupons I think are pretty great.  You can view the full list HERE.

I thought I’d throw this in because it’s something I’m doing and many of you have asked about my weekly grocery trips.  This particular trip won’t net you anything you can live on, by any means, but for $1.48 I’ll have some cheapy cheap drinks and mix for our shindig.  My kids will be crazy for the Banquet Salisbury Steak meals…Ugh, I’m glad we RARELY get coupons for those.

Michael’s: Passport to Fun – Canada Day!

Updated repost: Michael’s has launched a new craft series for kids called Passport to Fun.  The sessions are being held Tues, Thurs and Sat from 11am-2pm and feature a different country and corresponding craft for them to make.    I’d recommend getting there early, so you can ensure your child will have a spot.  Also, these projects are intended for ages 3 and up depending on your child’s fine motor skill maturity.   My son started doing things like this when he was about 4ish – 4 1/2.

This is today’s activity has to do with, I assume, the fact that tomorrow is Canada Day.  I think it’s so doggone cute.

Here is the full list of activities and dates:
June 21st – Sweden – Swedish Paper Dolls & Flags
June 23rd – Germany – Loden Hat & Cowbell
June 25th – Egypt – Mummy & Heiroglyphics
June 28th – Bahamas – Flower Lei & Tropical Can Hugger (must purchase hugger)
June 30th – Canada – Maple Leaf & Moose
July 2nd – USA  - Bead Flag & Log Cabin Caddy
July 5th – Italy – Foam Pizza & Suncatchers
July 7th – Australia – Koala Bear & Boomerang
July 9th  - India – Elephant & Henna Hand
July 12th – Russia – Bear & Nesting Doll Puppets
July 14th – France – Frenchman & Wood Eiffel Tower
July 16th – United Kingdom – Shamrock & Foam Crowns
July 19th – Japan – Origami Dog & Foam Printing Block
July 21st – Greece – Olympic Torch & Greek Pot
July 23rd – Mexico – Flower & Sun
July 26th – China – Tangram & Chinese Lantern
July 28th – South Africa – Lion & Friendship Bracelet
July 30th – Brazil – Snake & Mask

These are particularly good for younger children as an introduction to different countries and to help them get a grasp on the concept of the world being larger than their tiny piece of it.  That’s a tough one for little people to get a handle on!

Feel Good Fix: July 1 – Ronald McDonald House Charities!

This is not a free Feel Good Fix, but it is so worthwhile I have to say something.  Tomorrow, July 1st, Ronald McDonald House Charities would like you to participate in their Join Us for One Campaign to raise money  in support of the Ronald McDonald Houses across the country.  This particular campaign reminds us that this all started with one child in need, one family looking for a way and one doctor with a brilliant idea.  Please help support this worthy cause tomorrow.  Many families need a supportive nearby place to stay while their child is hospitalized.  Head over to the Facebook page to read many testimonials about the unmatched service that was provided to countless families.  Then, please remember to stop by tomorrow and donate your spare change.  Whether you’re out of town or not, there is always a McDonald’s around somewhere.  Go help out and feel good, my fixers!

Reminder/New to You:  When you see a post titled *Feel Good Fix*, you can be sure it is a good way to make a donation to a worthy cause with just a click of your mouse!  Many times, organizations have promotions on Facebook or the web where all you have to do is like them or make a comment and they’ll donate something on your behalf – food, money, water and many other things.  I try to profile at least one a week, sometimes more!

CVS: Quarterly ExtraCare Bucks!

This is a friendly reminder to scan your card at Big Red starting tomorrow, so you can get your quarterly ExtraCare Bucks reward.  Or if you’ve registered your extracare card online, you can print them from home as well.  It certainly makes rolling a whole lot easier.  If you’re not registered, you can still do it now and you can print it when I remind you next quarter!  Or maybe they’ve gotten things up to speed and you can print them tomorrow!  I haven’t had a report on that in a blue moon.
