Oh my, someone mentioned this to me around 2am last night. Obviously, I didn’t process it as a big deal. Duh! Dropped the ball on that one, and I don’t even remember who said it. Shame…shame…all around! I’m pretty sure it was Lisa though. Eeek! :/

And while I won’t dedicate a post to this because I feel as though so much has been said today, and really, my thoughts mean little. I will say that I was supposed to be at the Trade Center on 9/11 for a final trip breakfast. I had planned to sign up for a 7 day East Coast Tour that ended in NYC, where we were to fly home. It was an *off day* money saving bus tour trip that started in FL. The final morning had a scheduled touristy breakfast at the Trade Center at 8:30. I still have the schedule that I printed 10 & 1/2ish years ago. Due to some other conflicts I had and courses I knew I would be taking, I canceled the trip and lost the deposit. At the time, I was thoroughly disgusted that I had lost money I really couldn’t afford to lose. Turns out, I may have lost a whole lot more that day than a couple hundred dollars. Looking back, I remember sitting in a college class thinking that I was supposed to be in North Carolina on one of those days. Fast forward a few days and the next memory I have is stepping out of my lecture hall and turning on my phone. It was buried with messages and started ringing immediately. Another friend was calling me to tell me what had happened. Well, I don’t need to tell you how I felt. There is nothing else to say apart from this: I pray for the families who lost loved ones, those who sacrificed, those of us scarred, and that God continues to give those left behind the strength to bear the burden.
