CVS Updates: pur-Absorb Moneymaker, Super Cheap Dulcolax, Pure Protein Bars & Crest!

I’ve got a few notes that will make your trip to CVS a little easier…I hope!

First, the pur-Absorb Iron Supplement is a tough one to find!  A lot of you have come up completely empty on that one. There are two reasons for that  -   either your store doesn’t carry it or there were only a couple boxes to start.  I hear they’re pretty big.    Well, if you plan to take a trip looking for it and come up empty, make sure you get a raincheck!  When you do and the item comes back in stock, you’ll be given the ECB for it just as if it were still on sale.  Also, there is some talk on Facebook about a coupon, so it’ll probably be better to wait anyway!

pur-Absorb Iron Supplement 28ct $15.99
$15.99 ECB on 1 (lim 1)
Final after ECB: FREE (A coupon turns this one into a moneymaker!)

Also, if your store DOES have them, there may be a $2 coupon INSIDE the box, so look for that too!  One more thing, there is also a small questionnaire in the box that will nab you a free gift when you return it.

I was on the fence about putting this in the match-ups because it wasn’t specifically listed as being included in the protein bar deal, but it is:
Buy 2 Get One FREE
Pure Protein Bars ($1.69ish)
BOGO 10/2RP
$1.00/1 HERE
$0.50/1 All You June or Aug
Final:  3/$0.69 (using one BOGO and one $1.00/1)

Caveat:  The coupon policy doesn’t address a BOGO situation like this, but the Q&A page on the website does, generally speaking.  It plainly says you cannot use a coupon on a free item, so they may not allow you to use the $1.00/1.  Why did I include it?  I’m assuming it applies to the third item for which you’re still paying full price.  BOGO applies to item #2 and item #3 is already free.

Here is an unadvertised deal:
Crest w/Scope Toothpaste 2.7oz $2.37
$2.00 ECB on 1 (lim 2)
Final after ECB: $0.37 – Shannon wasn’t sure what info I needed for this post, but sent me what she did have -which is always FABULOUS.  I’m assuming it’s an unadvertised deal.  If you know exactly what she saw/bought, let us all know! :)

Here is the list of current Big Red Coupons (CVS kiosk):
$3.00/$10.00 Cosmetic Purchase
$0.25/1 Snickers, 3 Musketeers, Milky Way King Size
$1.50/1 Colgate Sens. ProRelief Toothpaste or Toothbrush
$3.00/1 Theraflu
$3.00/1 CoverGirl Professional Mascara
$1.50/2 Colgate Total Toothpaste 4oz
$1.00/2 Divine Cookies

This one makes a pretty nice stack:
Dulcolax Tablets 25ct $7.49 (online price)
$5.00/1 Big Red Coupon (CVS kiosk)
$2.00/1 HERE
$1.00/1 9/11SS
Final: $0.49!

Thanks, Shannon, Cara, Marie, Emma, Lindsay and Amanda!

The Children’s Place: 75% off + 20% Coupon + FREE Shipping + 6% Cash Back!

Oh my, there are some good shopping deals running through tomorrow night (10/10) at various places.  A couple of days ago, I settled on The Children’s Place, and spent around $100 for my birthday on clothes for my little people.  I know, my birthday = something for them.  That’s the way it goes, I guess.  In the end, that’s what will make me happy, so I go with it.

Now, before I say anything else, this is a huge splurge for me.  I never spend much money on clothes.  I go to the Salvation Army, garage sales, swap meets, and buy a lot of season end clearance.  This is really one of very few times I ever spend more than $2 a piece per item.  For holiday wear, though, these are fab prices.  I picked up two complete Christmas picture outfits and coordinating pyjamas for my teeny people.  In case you’re wondering, I chose this outfit with barrettes, shoes and tights, of course, for my girl.  It’s a little more casual than in years past, but she’ll love it.  That’s all that matters to me.  :)

The top is $12.71 and the skirt is, too.  Therefore, each piece is $9.40 after the 20% off coupon and 6% cash back.

I also saw some very sharp boys sweaters with 5 star ratings for  $13.84 after coupon and cash back.

These girls dressy coats below are just $20.69!

How To:  As with all the items I purchase online, I start with Shop At Home.com, so that I’ll get 6% cash back (Columbus Day Cash Back Bonus Special) on my purchase.   From there, I clicked *Shop Now*, selected my items, then used the code E2F2011 when I checked out to deduct 20% from my order.  Shipping is automatically free.

Have fun!  I sure did!

Cabin Fever: Construction Paper Shape Monsters!

Yep, I’m running late on the Cabin Fever post.  It’s a Friday thing, but if your Friday was anything like mine, you didn’t need an indoor activity.    Holy moly,  I think it must have something to do with my birthday because the weather has been phenomenally good for Michigan.  Beautiful trees and warm sun…it’s like heaven out there.

OK, enough of my weather talk, but really….no, I’ll stop.  Haha!

Here’s another cute idea for your rainy day bag of tricks – Shape Monsters!   My 3 AND 7 year old love to make these.  Maybe this will tell you how much – Our entire upstairs is theirs and they have the walls completely decorated with their many creations for Halloween.

Here’s what you’ll need:

9×12 Construction Paper

Scissors/Safety Scissors

Glue Stick(s)

Magic Marker (for pupils)

My notes:  You’ll want to cut enough pieces to assemble several monsters.  Most children, even small children who are familiar with Mr. Potato Head (or something similar),  can do this with little difficulty.  I keep STACKS with the various body parts stored together in a craft box for fidgety moments.  They’re super cheap to make and completely frustration free for everyone!  I’m assuming self explanatory too! :)
