New Years Eve Reminder: AAA Tipsy Tow Service! (Free Ride & Car Tow)

In many areas of the country, AAA offers a FREE *Tipsy Tow* or *Tow To Go* service for those who have had too much to drink and need a designated driver to get home safely.  This opportunity is only available on  pre-selected dates throughout the year, and includes New Years Eve.  The times of service vary by region, as does availability, so you’ll want to contact AAA to verify local participation or give it a quick Google in advance.

Also, to take advantage of this service, you don’t have to be a AAA member.  Simply call  1-800-222-4357 and help will be dispatched.  Obviously, this isn’t a service that’s intended to be a primary source of transportation.  Nevertheless, please write down the number and keep it handy in your wallet in the event that you see someone who does clearly need it or your plans change unexpectedly and you need help.

Many of us have been affected by intoxicated drivers.  Personally, I was 10 years old when I first knew someone killed by one.   He was a wonderful person and I still think of him frequently.  While everything happens for a reason, I still believe the world would be a much more colorful place with Jim in it.

Stay safe.  :)

New Stuff

Target unveiled a new promotion on Sunday, October 14th.  They’re offering free shipping on the top 20 toys, which can be found in the main aisle of your local store.  Each of them will have a QR code that can be scanned on your mobile device, so you can purchase and ship it anywhere you’d like in the United States.

There are always  new printable Target coupons we can stack with manufacturer coupons for additional savings.

Target has made some changes to their coupon policy, but there is nothing life changing here.

1.)  There is now a limit of four identical coupons per household per day (unless otherwise noted on coupon.)

2.)  Returns of items purchased using manufacturer coupons may receive coupon value returned in the form of a Target GiftCard.

Old Stuff

Target RedCard Information
Since many of you have asked, Target Redcards aren’t necessarily credit cards.  When you fill out the application, you have the option of choosing a Target Credit Card or Debit Card.

You’ll see an image like this one above, but the Debit Card option will be faint.  Click on it to highlight it, as I’ve done in the above photo, to obtain an application for a Target Debit Card that links to your checking account.  That way, you won’t be taking on a Target credit card with a high rate of interest.  Personally, I think it’s worth it to take the time and do this.  You’ll save 5% on all your orders in-store and on Target.com.  And when you shop online, you’ll  get free shipping on any size order.  There are no membership fees associated with participating.    And while I don’t know this part for certain, it seems that if you participate in this program (or another Target card program), it MAY put you on a mailing list to receive Target coupon booklets.  As you know, those stack nicely with manufacturer coupons.  Finally, I often see nice clearance deals at Target online.  This will allow you to take advantage of those without the minimum $50 purchase.

FYI: Target is not currently accepting applications for the Target Visa card.  The Target Debit Card cannot be used on Target Mobile.

New Stuff

The Single Check Rebate Program ends 1/1/13.

Rite Aid is celebrating 50 years with a special UP Reward promotion that begins Sunday, December 30, 2012 and ends January 26, 2013.

Buy $100 Get $20 UPR (lim 1)
and then earn an additional $10 UPR for each additional $50 you spend up to $250 up to a total of $50 in UPR earned.  You can view qualifying products HERE.

Starting September 2nd, all UP Rewards earned will be loaded directly to your Wellness+ account.  You may opt out of that program at the register.  In addition, they will not be available for use until 6am the day after receiving them.

These are not in ascending order.

The coupon policy has been updated recently.  If you missed my post, you can read all about it HERE.  All of the match-ups reflect these changes.

Old Stuff

I am now ONLY using online prices in my match-ups. I had been using my actual store prices, but that proved equally frustrating for many people. While I realize that online prices are equally frustrating, they’re relatively accurate for some. Since they’re about the same in that regard, it’s easier to use online prices! For new items not yet in their online store, I will use my store prices.

This lists consists of  all the items under $1, all the UP Reward generating items and many, MANY more.  Because I’m still doing most of the ad,  every link isn’t tested, as I don’t buy everything that’s on sale and I’m too cheap to waste the ink. Let me know if one doesn’t work, if my math has taken a nose dive or I’ve missed a rule somewhere.

Finally, please keep your Wellness + discount in mind. These deals are calculated assuming you have no discount, so you may need to adjust accordingly.

Still need help?  Check here or you can ALWAYS contact me.  After nearly 4 years, ABC pages to each store are coming soon. :)

If you missed it,  the Balance Rewards program is in full swing.  You’ll see many items below that earn points.  I’ve included this quick reference chart here, so you can see the point breakdown.  I’ve deducted the cash equivalent of the point value from the final cost of each item.

If you have a prescription you’d like to transfer to Walgreens, they’ll give you a $25 Walgreens Gift Card for doing so!  Check out my old  post if you haven’t seen it.

And if you missed it, you can read my latest post that discusses the *Bonus Buys* and changes coming for the mobile coupons and more.  The matchups begin with them.

It’s also a new month, so that means a new coupon booklet.  You can view the coupon list  HERE and print them, too.
