Don’t start throwing expired coupons at me if you’ve already bought this! Sometimes it pays to procrastinate here and there…although my Type A freakishness knows nothing about that. First, the Q & A because Forum Leader for Walgreens at AFC = I’m getting a lot of questions this week! Here are the most common:
Q: If I try to use the ad coupon and the booklet coupon for the trash bag deal, will they beep?
A: Aaah nope. If they did, I’d be hearing all about it and passing it along to you. When I bought mine, I gave the ad coupon first, then the booklet coupon. That’s what I recommend you do as well. Worked like a charm.
I also stumbled across rows and rows of the new Allergy coupon booklet, which is good because that crazy thing seems to be throwing curve balls, too.
Q: I tried to use an IVC (Instant Value Coupon) from the Allergy booklet with a manufacturer coupon and they told me I couldn’t because they’re both manufacturer coupons. Did the policy change?/Are they crazy?/Am I crazy? Take your pick.
There ARE manufacturer coupons & instant value coupons inside. Now that I have the actual booklet myself, the problem is clear. The Instant Value Coupons are generally thought of as Walgreens coupons, but the bar code is what differentiates a Walgreens Instant Value Coupon from a Manufacturer Instant Value Coupon. On top of that, some of the bar codes on the IVC coupons are the new manufacturer DataBar codes, and some start with a 5, which we’re used to using to identify a manufacturer coupon. Rule of thumb, four digit code = Walgreens coupon. Anything else is a manufacturer coupon.

Our shredder died a long time ago. Would you like to know why? Well, I’ve told you before that I’m a total Type A…all the time. In my case, Type A = Horribly Impatient. Not knowing anything about shredders (techno-dork) now or 108 years ago, I bought the most inexpensive one out there. Inexpensive must equal a shredding rate of one document in 24 hours. Oh. my. gosh., that thing was so slooooow. I got a headache just looking at it. You don’t want to know what went through my head when I figured out I could rip the paper up into teensy tiny portions by the time that crummy thing finished shredding ONE piece of paper. Haha! Anyhoo, long story short, I overloaded it. The paper jammed. It never unjammed. Junky piece of…JUNK. Back then, it didn’t matter too much though. After all, a twenty something only has about 6 papers that actually HAVE to be destroyed. Marriage + Kids =They multiply now!?! When did that happen?
