What exactly is a House Party?
It’s essentially what it says – a party at your house with a theme.  Various manufacturers supply a free party pack containing gifts, coupons, and products to try on a pre-selected day.  You invite your friends to come on over and try the goodies out with you.  After all, word of mouth is the best form of advertising.  Since there are only a limited number of spots,  there is no guarantee that you’ll be chosen.  That said, I know plenty of people who have hosted them, too.  Give it a whirl!  If you get chosen, let me know! :)

Rite Aid Update: Trip Notes & FREE Clairol Natural Instincts!

OK, I usually mention that I have a trip to Rite Aid or Walgreens in the works, but I forgot to tell you today.  If you’re new around here, you may wonder why I would tell you such a thing.  Well, as I ALWAYS tell you when I do actually go, it’s a rare event.  I blog and work match-ups 20 times more than I actually shop.  Easily.  OK, so I know how much you love to hear all about a *Trip Gone Bad* and this one definitely has shades of that.  Not the worst trip, but not the best either.  Prepare to be slightly amused, and for a final unexpected spin.

Now, you know I love my Nivea Body Wash.  Love is not stretching it either.  Neither is L-O-V-E.  OK, so I was crazy excited thinking that I might get TWO $1.50 UP Rewards AND ONE $5 UP Reward on a $15 Nivea purchase.  After all, it was advertised.  Uh-huh, riiiight.  That’s about as close as I got to a $5 UP Reward…a dangling, ray of sunlight…or blinding tag reminiscent of a school highlighter.  Depending on the day.  And how much I love/loathe those tags.  And how much Rite Aid makes me feel like I’m back in school. With that in mind, I think you know quite well how I feel about those tags today. I really don’t like highlighters.  Bah.  No matter, I’ll call corporate.  Again.  It may work.  It may not.  Again.

No Neutrogena in stock.  Anywhere.

I had to go to another Rite Aid to find enough Aveeno, but no Neutrogena.  Again.

I did, however, find a bunch of J&J Bonus Baby Products like the Head to Toe and Lotion that had either a 3 oz Baby Oil  or 3 oz Lotion packaged with them.  That was a nifty surprise.   If you’re thinking about doing that deal for your little ones or a gift basket, look for those.  They make a good deal much better.

Oh, but lookie at this gem of a deal.  Now, the clearance items aren’t tracking for the Buy $30 Get $10 UP Reward, so don’t get any ideas.  Darn, I know, but they’re free either way.

This clearance Clairol Natural Instincts color at $4.49 works PERFECTLY with an ad coupon mixed in with the the P&G deal below.

Available Coupons:
$15/$50 PG MIR
$5.00/2 Clairol Color 4/15SS

1 – $4.00/2 ad coupon

Remember, we’re Couponing for Community in a couple of weeks.  For that, you can donate anything you like to whomever you choose.  You can pick these up to donate to Dress for Success or a similar charity.  Many local donation sites for that organization take things like cosmetics & hair color.  If not, they’ll be able to direct you to someplace that does.  Also, I often donate items like these to a local women’s shelter.   They’re always grateful to receive them there as well.

Oh, one final (important) note: I paid $1 for the Aquafresh at Walgreens.  I forgot to use the April Booklet coupon and didn’t notice because I bought a coloring book and ball, too.  Great, huh?   But you know what? In the end, it is great.  I have a daughter to even want a coloring book and ball.  And I have a few extra dollars to make it happen.  Right now, she is laying on the floor next to me coloring in it.  Singing.  I am very blessed.  And I’m grateful that all it takes is a $1 mistake to help me see that.  Perspective.

Now, feel free to tell me all about your trip mishaps this week.  You know  I love to hear them.  Really, I do. :)

Walgreens Updates: More Free Toothpaste, Clearance Beauty Tools & Pepsi Next Deals!

I don’t take trips to the drugstores for too many deals, but I haven’t gotten free kids toothpaste since I picked up a ton of Crest Kids a few years ago.  No kidding.  Last night, I scurried right over to Walgreens for some Aquafresh and Nasal Ease though.  I wasn’t about to miss out on that moneymaker.  From the e-mails I’ve been getting, y’all are BUSY picking up all kinds of deals too!

Aquafresh Deal

First, you’ll want to make sure the Aquafresh Fresh ‘n Fruity is ringing up at $2.00 at your store.  It was at mine.  It was for a handful of other readers.  None of us had tags stating the Fresh ‘n Fruity was part of the $2.00 sale.  That doesn’t mean it isn’t, certainly, but it isn’t advertised.  That said, print this $1.00/1 Aquafresh Fresh ‘n Fruity coupon to stack with the $1.00/1 Aquafresh Kids in the Walgreens April Coupon Booklet for some more free kids toothpaste!  Don’t need it?  Pick it up to donate for our Couponing for Community drive!

Pepsi Next Deal

Pepsi Next 12pk 12oz cans is still ringing up at $2.99.  Depending on your ad, you may have to buy 2 or 3 to get the Register Reward.  I have only heard from one person who said two, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t more widespread than that.  I’m sure all you 2 people will email me to tilt the scale the other way! ;)  Either way, make sure it is still ringing up at $2.99 before you attempt this.

OK, so here’s the deal:

2 Pepsi Next 12pk 12oz cans $5.98 ($2.99ea)
Use:
1 – $1.00/1 April Coupon Booklet (deducts $2)
Pay: $3.98
Get $3 RR
Final: 2/$0.98 or $0.49ea

3 – Pepsi Next 12pk 12oz $8.97
Use:
1 – $1.00/1 April Coupon Booklet (deducts $3)
Pay: $5.97
Get $3RR
Final after RR: 2/$2.97 or $0.99ea!

Studio 35 Professional Beauty Tools

They’re being reported on clearance – buffers, Nail Files, Tweezers, Eyelash Curlers and Nail Clippers.  They’re being reported at anywhere between $0.35-$0.97.  Use the $1.00/1 Walgreens April Coupon Booklet coupon to pick them up for free!

Thanks, Amber, April, Kelsey, Lindsay and AFC!
