It goes without saying that I don’t like to pay a lot for my clothes or shoes. And since I have a very limited clothing budget each year, I have a simple technique that I use to cut down the cost of maintaining a nice wardrobe.
Once upon a time, I had all sorts of clothes – an olive green sweater set with coordinating skirt and shoes….or an equally pretty layered rose skirt with embroidered flowers and coordinating sweater set and shoes. The only problem? They weren’t interchangeable. They had to be matched up that way or I couldn’t wear any of the pieces. I didn’t have anything that went with them!
When money got tight and we were reduced to a single income, the one thing I didn’t want to give up was having new clothes here and there. Yet, our budget certainly didn’t permit the kind of spending I used to do. With that in mind, I devised a simple solution for my problem.
I chose only my most favorite colors that I like to wear to fill my closet. Adding new pieces each year that coordinate with my base allows more mixing and matching without the financial pinch.
For example, I love these Anne Klein shoes and they fit right in with my palette of beige, peach, white, black and pale pink. And since they’re Anne Klein, they’re a steal at $21.99 over their regular retail price of $79.
Through July 22nd, 6pm is having a sale on Anne Klein with discounts up to 80%. The deepest discounts are on clothing, but these shoes are the next closest at 72%. Remember, shipping is free with 6pm.com!
