Rite Aid: Free Flu Shot Booklet! No Purchase Necessary!

First, let me backtrack a bit, as this relates to a behind the scenes discussion between myself and my die hard Rite Aid readers and friends.  I mentioned in my post about the Rite Aid Oral Health Coupon Booklet that I was hoping the fine print would state, as it has in the past, that no purchase would be required to receive the Flu Shot Booklet.  Well, as before, no purchase is required to pick one up.  I received this press release from Rite Aid Corporate last week and I’ve highlighted the relevant areas, so that you can take it to your local store to pick yours up, too!   Let me repeat.  You do NOT need to get a flu shot to receive the coupon booklet.  Follow the asterisk or yellow brick road.  Ya know, whatever works.   :)

This press release is available on the Rite Aid website and here as well.

RITE AID PHARMACISTS READY TO HELP CUSTOMERS, COMMUNITIES FIGHT THE FLU

Flu Shots Available All Day, Every Day at All Rite Aid Pharmacies Nationwide

Rite Aid press release

Aug. 6, 2012

Camp Hill, Pa. – Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE: RAD) announced today that seasonal flu shots are now available at all Rite Aid pharmacies nationwide. Customers can visit any of the more than 4,600 Rite Aid pharmacies nationwide and receive a flu shot from a Rite Aid certified immunizing pharmacist, subject to state regulations, during pharmacy hours, no appointment necessary. Flu shots are $29.99 each and are covered by many insurance plans, including Medicare Part B. To locate the nearest Rite Aid pharmacy, visit www.riteaid.com or call 1-800-RITE-AID.

“While it’s difficult to predict what any flu season will be like, we do know that getting a flu shot as soon as it is available is the single best way to be protected against the flu,” said Robert Thompson, Rite Aid Executive Vice President of Pharmacy. “That’s why starting now, Rite Aid is making flu shots available all day, every day, to help our customers and communities stay healthy throughout flu season.”

Anyone who gets a flu shot at Rite Aid will receive a free coupon booklet that offers over $100 in savings, while supplies last*. The booklet includes savings on health and wellness, beauty and household items and other products available at Rite Aid. Members of Rite Aid’s free customer loyalty program, wellness+, will also earn 25 points when they get their flu shot (prescriptions paid for in whole or in part by state or federal healthcare programs such as Medicare or Medicaid and prescriptions filled in New York and New Jersey are not eligible by law for accrual of points).

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone six months and older get a flu shot as soon as it is available, since it takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body and provide protection against the flu. A flu shot is recommended every year because flu viruses are constantly changing. The flu vaccine is formulated each year to keep up with the flu viruses as they change, including two different viruses for this season. The 2012-2013 vaccine will protect against an influenza A H3N2 virus, an influenza B virus and the H1N1 virus that emerged in 2009.

Flu season in the United States can begin as early as October and can continue through mid-May, with the highest concentration of cases occurring between December and April. Flu symptoms include headache, body aches, fever, fatigue, sore throat and dry cough. Additional information about the 2012-2013 flu season can be found at www.cdc.gov.

Rite Aid pharmacists are also able to administer vaccinations for 12 other diseases, such as pertussis (whooping cough), shingles and pneumonia, subject to state regulations. To learn more about Rite Aid’s year-round immunization program, visit www.riteaid.com.

Rite Aid Corporation is one of the nation’s leading drugstore chains with more than 4,600 stores in 31 states and the District of Columbia and fiscal 2012 annual revenues of $26.1 billion. Information about Rite Aid, including corporate background and press releases, is available through the company’s website at www.riteaid.com.

Target: Oral-B Professional Care 1000 Recharg. Toothbrush $17 (ret $111.98) After Rebate!

This great deal is back!

Did you know that battery toothbrushes clean teeth better than manual toothbrushes?  Among adults, the improvement in plaque removal is 14ish% in one study.

One of Target’s Daily Deals is for the Oral-B Professional Care 1000 Rechargeable Toothbrush Bonus Pack that comes with 10 Crest Vivid Whitestrips AND coupons for $37!  Depending on the value of the coupons, it could make this toothbrush FREE!

Here’s how you can maximize your savings:

Oral-B Professional Care 1000 Rechargeable Toothbrush with Bonus Whitestrips $37.00 (retail $111.98)
$20 Oral-B Rebate
Final after MIR: $17.00!

Note: When you submit your rebate, make sure you print your receipt from your Target account or from the email order confirmation.  You cannot submit a packing slip as proof of purchase with your rebate.

Details:
Use your Target RedCard and save 5% on your order and receive free shipping on any order.  As with all Target Daily Deals, they ship free and are valid only on the date specified, August 15th.

Target RedCard Information
Since many of you have asked, Target Redcards aren’t necessarily credit cards.  When you fill out the application, you have the option of choosing a Target Credit Card or Debit Card.

You’ll see an image like this one above, but the Debit Card option will be faint.  Click on it to highlight it, as I’ve done in the above photo, to obtain an application for a Target Debit Card that links to your checking account.  That way, you won’t be taking on a Target credit card with a high rate of interest.  Personally, I think it’s worth it to take the time and do this.  You’ll save 5% on all your orders in-store and on Target.com.  And when you shop online, you’ll  get free shipping on any size order.  There are no membership fees associated with participating.    And while I don’t know this part for certain, it seems that if you participate in this program (or another Target card program), it MAY put you on a mailing list to receive Target coupon booklets.  As you know, those stack nicely with manufacturer coupons.  Finally, I often see nice clearance deals at Target online.  This will allow you to take advantage of those without the minimum $50 purchase.

FYI: Target is not currently accepting applications for the Target Visa card.  The Target Debit Card cannot be used on Target Mobile.

Reader Kelly snapped these pictures last night at Walgreens for us.  I couldn’t be more thrilled.  We really do have the best readers.  :)

One A Day Menopause Formula $4.99
$2/1 One A Day Multivitamin Product, exp. 9/23/12 (RP 07/29/12)

$1/1 One A Day Multivitamin printable
Final: $2.99 – You can see the Walgreens brand right next to it that retails for $15.99!

Scope Deal

This picture is somewhat misleading, so I’ll help clear it up before I tell you about the deal.  What is on clearance is Scope Whitening 24oz (710ml) at $3.49.  In it’s spot is Scope Outlast 25.4oz (750ml) and that particular item belongs in the $3.99 spot next to it.  Since that’s what’s important to this deal, ignore the clearance…sort of! ;)

The Outlast is also Buy One Get One 50% off through August 25th.  That’s what is important.

Take a look at this updated scenario:

Scope 750ml $3.50 (2 @ $4.50)
$3.00 RR on 2
$0.75/1 7/29PG
Final: 2 FREE

Crest Deal

The same sale applies to Crest and so does the BOGO 50% off:

2 – Crest Complete Toothpaste 5.8-6.2oz $4.50
$3.00 RR on 2
$0.75/1 7/29PG
Final after RR: 2 FREE – save your receipt for the $5 mail in rebate, too!

Remember, if you’d like to buy Crest AND Scope, you’ll have to do it in separate transactions as the Register Reward deal is the same and only one will print.

Thanks so much, Kelly, for sending me these great pictures!
