Amazon: Household Supplies Deals! (Updated 10/25)

Uh oh, you know if I took the time to customize a picture, it’s something you’ll routinely see here.  I’ve been receiving quite a few requests  to put together a compiled list of the best prices on household items in store and at Amazon.  No problem!  Very often, we can save just as much or more on these staples at Amazon than we can in any store.  Tack on the cost of gas and lugging some of these things around, and having them delivered right to your doorstep is a welcome break!  For now, I’ve put together the best Amazon deals since the drugstore deals are coming to a close for this week. But somewhere in the neighborhood of every Monday or Tuesday, you can expect to see the best prices from all three drugstores and Amazon in this weekly post.

Now, let’s kick this list off with the Gold Box Deal of the Day. Lock & Lock BPA Free Airtight Containers 36 piece set of 18 containers is just $29.99 shipped! (retail $52.50)

Sparkle, Giant Rolls, Print, [2 Rolls*10 Pack] = 20 Total Count is $19.61 after clipping the $1 coupon.  and using Subscribe & Save.  Since the rolls are 1 & 1/2 times the size of a regular roll, that works out to just $0.65/roll.

At a price that works out to $0.11/bag, the Kirkland Signature Drawstring Kitchen Trash Bags – 13 Gallon – 200 Count is $23.45 with free Super Saver Shipping.

While it seems more costly, the Hefty EZ Flaps Tall, 13 Gallon Kitchen Bags, 80 Count Boxes (Pack of 6) is $42.58 with Subscribe & Save.  The price works out to $0.09/bag.  If you can afford to spend that amount, you’ll be saving more in the end.

My favorite cleaning product – the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Cleaning Pads, 8-Count Box is $6.64 with Subscribe & Save.   That’s just $0.83 each for a little bit of magic.  And if you need creative uses for them, you’ll want to check out this post by The Fun Times Guide.   I mean, c’mon, they remove toilet bowl rings.  Cut a piece off and float it in your toilet overnight.  No kidding.  It works.  Know what else works?  Efferdent tablets.  Yep, and they’re free at Dollar Tree!

The Cottonelle Clean Care Toilet Paper, Double Roll, 24-Count (Pack of 2) is just $26.54 shipped with Subscribe & Save.    Since these are double rolls, the price works out to $0.28/roll.  Quilted Northern is still available at $0.23/roll, too.

Finish Powerball Tablets, Fresh Scent, 85-Count are $13.18 with Subscribe & Save.  That’s $0.16 per load. If you prefer the Finish Gelpacs , the 60ct Orange Scent is $9.95 with Subscribe & Save or $0.17/load. These seem to dissolve a bit better in our dishwasher.

Kirkland Signature Stretch Tite Plastic Wrap 11 7/8x758ft (750 sq ft) 2pk  is $20.47 ($16.99 with a $3.48shipping charge.) This has gone up twice in price since I started writing this post, so hurry if you’re interested.  It’s 1,516 total feet and around a penny a foot.  Plus, I love the slide cutter that can be mounted on the top of the box for easy cutting.

Dropps Laundry Pacs, Fresh Scent, 80-Load Pouch is $14.22 with Subscribe & Save.  That’s just under $0.18/load.

Amazon Program Information Refresher
Understanding these Amazon programs can be confusing, so I though it might be nice to break them down a bit for you.

Some items are available through the Subscribe & Save program.  What that means is that you select shipments at regular intervals (every 1-6 months) and you’ll receive the item at the 5% discounted price.  Additionally, all subscriptions ship free.  If you don’t want to bother with regular shipments (the prices do fluctuate), sign up to receive the shipment you want and cancel (with no penalty) when you’ve received your order.  You can cancel via the Your Account dropdown menu tab “Your Subscribe & Save Items.”  Canceling is very easy to do.

Alternatively, all items can be shipped free with Amazon Prime as well. You can sign up for a free trial membership and cancel before you are charged the annual fee, if you choose.

I am a member of the Amazon Mom program.  Starting January 24, 2012, the maximum discount available on any purchase is 20%.  This comes from the exclusive discount of 15% on select items (diapers, wipes, etc.) on top of  a revised 5% Subscribe and Save discount vs. 15% for other purchased items i.e. grocery, etc.  There are often coupons that are stackable with these discounts as well.  Also, when you join Amazon Mom, you have the added bonus of Amazon Prime free Two-Day shipping for the first three months continued only by purchasing an Amazon Prime membership after the trial period ($79).

Amazon Student is free for, well, college students by providing a school and major.  You get AmazonPrime free shipping for six months and free release date delivery on video games, DVD’s, books and more.  You must have a .edu email address to confirm.
