Rite Aid: My Trip Plan 1/25-1/31

Wish me luck!  That’s all I can say.  I’m taking the tasmanians to Rite Aid with me today – at the height of flu season!  My son is well trained at this point.  He won’t touch anything and will all but flip his lid if he hears someone sneeze or cough.  He’s like Pavlov’s dog….a couple of nasty illnesses have solidified the connection between touching things and disease acquisition.  No further reminders are necessary.  My daughter, on the other hand, thinks she descended from the fairies and is therefore immune to all of the bad things in this world.  If she sees a Barbie, it will speak to her and my girlie will not be able to ignore her voice.  I just hope Barbie’s microbe-loving transportation vehicle won’t take us to Germville.  Gah.  Envision a Purell mini-bath in the van and a lot of “Don’t touch your face!” getting there because that’s exactly what will happen.  I kid.  A little.  Only a little.

So, the reason I’m braving the pathogens (and the cold) is that there are some good deals at Rite Aid this week.  I’m in pretty rough shape on the Pantene front and a stockpile of DiGiorno would be nice.  A couple of boxes of cereal and a gallon of milk won’t hurt either.  What does hurt?  I lost my 20% gold discount this year.  That has inspired me to make sure I spend enough to get it back next year.  Between having a decent stockpile of items and diverting funds to moving expenses, eating healthier, and last year’s vacations, I just didn’t coupon at the level I had in the past.  We didn’t need very much.  Now my stockpile is shrinking, so it’s time to bump things back up a bit.  Of course, I’ll share my trip plans and finds with you as I go along with my spending total as time permits.

Now, I already have around $40 spent (maybe more?) in January.  Since we moved, Rite Aid has become the closest drugstore, so it gets all of our business whereas we went to CVS last year.  We’ve needed Claritin for my son and a couple of other miscellaneous items, so I’m a little ahead of the game.  With $960ish still left to spend, there’s a lot of room for you to follow along.  I’ll toss in the week’s best deals that’ll help you mix and match your trip to best fit your needs.

OK, here’s my plan for this week! I do not expect this to go off without a hitch because I don’t know a Rite Aid anywhere around here that’ll have 6 DiGiorno pizzas.  I’m hopeful, though.  We’ve got about 10 Rite Aid’s in a 5 mile radius, so I feel pretty confident that I might be able to pull that deal off either all at once or by breaking it down.  I’ll also likely be doing these all at once vs. rolling my UP’s throughout the week like I tend to do in the warmer months.  I’ll hold them and use them toward next week’s purchases.

This post may contain affiliate links. Read my disclosure policy for more information.

New Information

All UP Rewards earned will be loaded directly to your Wellness+ account.  You may opt out of that program at the register.  In addition, they will not be available for use until 6am the day after receiving them.

These are not in ascending order.

The coupon policy has been updated.  If you missed my post, you can read all about it HERE.  All of the match-ups reflect these changes.

Old Information

I am now ONLY using online prices in my match-ups. I had been using my actual store prices, but that proved equally frustrating for many people. While I realize that online prices are equally frustrating, they’re relatively accurate for some. Since they’re about the same in that regard, it’s easier to use online prices! For new items not yet in their online store, I will use my store prices.

Finally, please keep your Wellness + discount in mind. These deals are calculated assuming you have no discount, so you may need to adjust accordingly.

Latest News

Let me know what Big Red coupons you receive and I’ll add them to the matchups!

On 8/23,  CVS  announced that they’ll be reducing the ECB  length on our receipts by 25%, and next year, we’ll be able to load all offers directly to our ExtraCare Cards.     You can see that statement here.

Always be sure and scan your card at Big Red!  We’re getting great coupons lately!

General Information

This list is printable!

Here are some easy use notes for you.

You’ll see a check box next to the sale item.  You can check that box and it will add it to your printable list box in the bottom right corner of your screen.  When you’ve added all the items you want to buy to the list, you can click on the *My List* tab to print them.

CVS has also released a new corporate coupon policy.  Make sure you print a copy and take it with you when you shop.  If this is new to you, you can read more about the changes to Buy One Get One Free sales and coupons HERE.

Keep in mind that CVS ads can be extremely regional.  You may find price variations in the sale items or they may not be on sale in your area at all.

This list includes all the items under $1, most of the ECB deals and many, MANY more.  Because I’m still doing most of the ad,  every link isn’t tested, as I don’t buy everything that’s on sale and I’m too cheap to waste the ink. Let me know if one doesn’t work, if my math has taken a nose dive or I’ve missed a coupon somewhere.
