This year, as I sit eating Samoas (thanks to Zantac), I’m wondering if you know where you can find these often hidden gems.  Me?  I stumbled over a table of them on Sunday at KMart.  Hey, I coulda stumbled over much worse.

But really, the reason for the post is this:  Once upon a time, I could never find these cookies derived from gold.  I stopped and asked at the grocery store…nothing.  Even at work, not a single person had a mother’s-brother-in-law-cousins-grandson’s-daughter selling them.  Of course,  I could have called the Girl Scouts near me…ahem, again  *Book Smart* vs. *Life Smart*.  If you’re in the same boat, here’s an online tool to help you find these elusive treats.  Enter your zip code, then click *Locate Cookies*.   It will retrieve a list of locations where you can purchase your cookies.  Yep, you’re welcome.

There are so many personal benefits that young girls derive from the sale and proceeds of cookies.  If you’d like, you can learn more about how your purchase directly affects the lives of these young girls.

Help Ulta support breast cancer awareness when you participate in their Donate with a Kiss promotion throughout October.

• A $1 donation to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF)  will allow you to register and possibly win a beauty bag of *pink* products valued at $598 with one winner per store chosen at random.  A kiss decal will be given for each donation to post in store or take home.

• A $5 donation will nab you an Ulta Pink Limited Edition Travel Tumbler and 5 kiss decals.

• A $10 donation with get you a Pink Kiss Umbrella and 10 decals.

In addition, they’ll be offering several Pink products  for purchase throughout the month of October to support the BCRF including brands like Stila, Smashbox, and Philosophy.

Last, but certainly not least, you can pop by on Sunday, October 14th from 11am-6pm to participate in their Cut-A-Thon where you’ll  receive a shampoo, cut, and style for a suggested donation of $10 to the BCRF.  Plan to be there early and reserve your appointment time.  It’s first come, first serve only.

100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Fund.

Today is the day that we honor our fallen service members.  And in honoring their sacrifice, let’s do something for those who are serving NOW to show them how much we appreciate their service.

America Online needs our help to donate ONE MILLION minutes to USO Operation Phone Home by making heroes.aol.com our home page.  It’s that simple.

Here’s how you make your FREE donation:

• Enter your email address in the *Get Started Below* field and submit.
• From there, your browser will be detected and you can make heroes.aol.com your homepage.  You can add it either as your only homepage or add it to your homepage tab.   In doing so, you will donate 10 minutes.
• After that,  register with their Map of Support!  When you do, you can come back every day and donate minutes.  They’ll add your hometown to the map and track the total donation from your area.
• Once you’ve registered, you can send a message to the troops and add an additional 5 minutes  to your total donation.
• Play the matching game daily to donate another 2 minutes.  Also, when you play the game and match THREE USO logos, they’ll donate $100 in your name to the USO’s Operation Phone Home.  You’ll also be entered to win a Samsung Galaxy Tablet.  They’re giving away one per week and we can play daily through June 30, 2012.

Here’s an easy way to make a difference in the life of a baby for a day.  Head over to the Hula Babies tab on the Huggies Facebook Page and create a Hula Baby using a picture of yourself or your very own Hula Baby.  When you do, Huggies will donate enough diapers to care for a baby in need for one day.  Also, they’ll donate the same for every pack of Huggies Hawaiian Diapers you purchase.
